Question for Alex:
Can you recall a specific moment in the last four months that you were in what you would consider to be “nature” and thought or felt for at least a split second that “maybe all is actually right with the world” ?
Alex's Response:
This past May, I was able to visit the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma with my grandparents. The highlight of our trip was driving to the summit of Mount Scott, a place that my grandma and her sister would remember as a regular hangout spot when they were growing up. There’s something special about visiting a place that appears to have stayed frozen in time for hundreds, if not thousands of years. In fact, the granite that we were standing on was millions of years old! The views from the top of Mount Scott are still crystal clear in my mind. The panorama of the Oklahoman landscape was a painting come to life, and with it came a nonstop breeze that was refreshing on a warm spring day. It is in a moment like that, when you see everything from afar, that life appears quite simple.
