Question for Rudy:

Has your idea of what happiness means or looks like changed UNEXPECTEDLY as you've grown older?  Would you share that truth or perspective with your younger self if you could?

Rudy's Response:

One of the benefits of aging is receiving new teachers/loved ones in your life called grandchildren.

A few brief learnings from them:

-       Begin every interaction with love and a hug, if possible.

-       Playing without winning is participating in an infinite game. It's a really delicious offering. Try it.

-       Everything is to be continued. Every single thing. You just don't know it.

-       Try having people in your life whom you're always dancing with. It reminds me of an infinite, double-helical DNA strand with no beginning and no end.

-       Hurrying up is toxic.

-       Anger is very contagious, and joy is more contagious.

-       The most powerful propellant on the planet by far is laughter.

-       If you worry, don't pray, and if you pray, don't worry.

-       Since everything is to be continued – every relationship, every interaction, every action –  then intentionality is a huge, huge blessing.

God, I love my life!
