Question for Alex:
Is there a specific song, song lyric, or music genre that is particularly meaningful and moving for you? What is it and in what way(s) has it had an impact?
Alex's Response:
Not a formal genre but I'm a huge fan of late night driving music (example here (Apple Music) and here (Spotify)). For me, this tends to lean spacey and introspective. It's the best way I've found to be able to melt into my mind and start to question everything: my mortality, my parent's mortality, responsibility, life's meaning(s), our joint humanity, death, rebirth, speed, cosmos, nature, consciousness, etc. I'll sum it up as being tapped into the source, like I've transcended the physical plain and so clearly recognize the simulation that we're swimming through everyday. Energy is both weightless and all-encompassing. Everything has as much weight as the gravity you're willing to give it.
I hardly feel like a musical person nowadays, but through this music, I'm able to resonate with what I consider to be the natural rhythm of my existence, and it feels so right.
