Question for Lusine:

Does one particular travel experience come to mind (whether travel for work or vacation) that had a substantial and LASTING impact on your life?

Lusine's Response:

I had fallen in love with a BBC show called The World’s Most Extraordinary Homes, which focused on unique architectural creations. And specifically, the episode on Norway, which I had rewatched multiple times, and it had become my dream to go to Norway.

Years later, I attended a “Women in Energy” event. We were standing in a crop circle, and one of the women mentioned that her company was based in Norway. I shared that it had been my dream to visit. Another woman in the group asked me a very simple but powerful question… “So why won’t you go?” Somehow, it hadn’t occurred to me that I could actually visit. After some further conversation, this group of incredible, powerful strangers, who had somehow become invested in making my dream come true, pushed me to spontaneously book a solo trip to Oslo and Bergen. Three days later, I was on my way.

I spent two days in Copenhagen, and took an overnight cruise to Oslo. When I stepped foot on the mainland, I was overcome with an extreme rush of uncontrollable emotions, and I started crying tears of joy. I was SO happy to be there. It was truly something unexplainable -- I’ve traveled to a good number of countries, yet I had never felt like I belonged somewhere to this degree. I’m not necessarily a big believer in energy alignment and the like, but the experience made me wonder: is there a place where each of us is most aligned, where we deeply, almost cosmically, belong?

The many saunas followed by plunges into the stunning fjords, the overall energy of the country, the people, and the local live music, all truly cracked me open. The feeling of stagnancy that I had been feeling, lifted.

If there is truly a place in the world meant for each of us, then mine is Norway. What a gift to have been able to find it – and I’ll always carry a deep sense of gratitude for the incredible women who gave me the nudge I didn’t know I needed.
