CFC BLOG #132: Anti Pet Peeve List - NY Style

After sending out the wonderfully extensive anti-pet peeve list a few weeks ago, my sister Christina kept texting me with more and more anti-pet peeves that she became conscious about. She did this for a few days. So I suggested she make a little list to share with everyone, keeping the spirit of anti-pet peeves alive this month! Side note: Christina's clear adoration for NYC makes me more and more excited to be back in that city in less than a month! :)

Anti Pet Peeve List - NY Style

Opening my shades first thing in the morning to the sun beaming through my New York windows.

When you smile at a stranger in NYC and they automatically smile back.. always find it funny how contagious happiness actually is.

Catching the microwave just before my oatmeal overflows everywhere.

Having a little time before work to sip coffee & bubble in the NYT crossword puzzle (double points if I Google-cheat < 20 times).

Witnessing a person helping someone on the subway - picking up something they dropped, lifting a walker off of the car, carrying a stroller up the stairs (double points to be that person).

Saying good morning to Tony, our front desk man who knows all 400+ employees at my company, by name and associated family and friends.

Starting the day with a productive meeting or creative project.

Factoring in an afternoon walk by the Seaport or the water at Brookfield Place.

Listening to the rain’s white noise on the streets.. or taking in the stillness of snow in Manhattan.

Watching tourists feed the squirrels at City Hall Park... and/or feeding the pigeons at City Hall Park.

Going for a sunset run around the reservoir at Central Park and soaking in the post runner’s high bliss.

Keeping an anti-pet peeves list and realizing there’s a lot more to be grateful for each day than we may normally take note of
